She suffers from a rare genetic disorder known as “Weaver syndrome which is caused by rapid growth.
She has a standing height of 213.6cm (7ft 0.09 in) and received the award in a special presentation in her hometown of Safranbolu, near Karabük.
Rumeysa had to be measured three times in one day by a Guinness book official and in the presence of world records official representative Seyda Subasi-Gemici.
“It’s one of my biggest dreams to be awarded this record. Being a record-holder is an amazing thing. I know that only the special people can make it and I know I’m one of them now.”Rumeysa said.
Ms Subasi-Gemici said “Guinness World Records celebrates diversity and recognises extraordinary people all over the world.
The teenager is currently in the 11th grade at high school and lives at home with her parents and older siblings – who are more average in height.
